Chijyo does not mean slut. It means this

Most of the translation problems on this site come from categories with no English name. This one is the opposite problem: the category has an English name, it is confidently displayed, and it is wrong.
The Japanese is 痴女, chijyo. The English navigation renders it as Slut. It sits on 1,098 titles.

What chijyo actually describes
It describes a woman who takes the initiative. She is the one directing the scene, setting the pace, and pursuing the other person rather than responding to them.
That is a statement about who is driving. It is not a statement about how much sex someone has, how they dress, or what anyone thinks of them.
The English word “slut” is a statement about exactly those things, and a hostile one. The two words are not describing the same idea at all.
Where the mistranslation came from
The character 痴 carries a sense of foolishness or obsession, and 女 is woman. A literal reading produces something unflattering, and a translator working character by character lands somewhere near the English insult.
But Japanese adult media has used chijyo as a straightforward scene-type label for decades, in the same register as “office comedy” or “period drama.” It sits opposite chikan (痴漢), the male equivalent, and neither is being used as an insult when it appears as a genre.
The closest honest English rendering is something like dominant woman or woman-led. Neither is perfect. Both are much closer than what is on the site.
The Painful WombWhy the difference is practical, not pedantic
If you filter on the English word, you will expect a certain register — something aggressive or degrading. That is not what these 1,098 titles are.
What they are, structurally, is scenes where the woman is the active party. In practice this often means slower openings, more direction from her, and a different shape to the scene than the studio’s default.
Someone who wanted the English meaning and clicked this tag would be disappointed. Someone who wanted a woman-led scene and skipped the tag because of its English name would have missed the largest collection of them on the site. Both of those are the label’s fault.
What the catalogue shows
These titles run from 2003 to the present month, so this is an active category rather than a historical one. The average rating sits at 4.58, essentially level with the catalogue average of 4.56.
561 different performers appear across them, and 77 of the studio’s named series include at least one. The most frequent contributor appears in twelve. That spread says the label is attached to a scene type rather than to a handful of performers who specialise in it.
Co-occurrence is unremarkable — it tracks the studio’s usual pattern, with 78% also carrying the namakan tag and 76% Creampie. The tag is not marking a fringe of the catalogue.
I really want to have sex ~The return of a national treasure-class beauty~A related label to be careful with
The catalogue also carries an Idol tag, a Milf tag, and several others where the English is a rough approximation of a Japanese marketing category. Where a one-word English translation exists, it is usually doing less work than it appears to.
Our general advice on this site is to treat the English category names as pointers, not definitions, and to check what a tag actually collects before relying on it. The full list with our own glosses is on the glossary page.

The short version
- Chijyo means a woman who takes the lead in a scene
- The official English name Slut is a mistranslation — it describes reputation, not initiative
- Closer English: dominant woman or woman-led
- 1,098 titles, still being added to, rating in line with the catalogue average
- If you want woman-led scenes, this is the tag — despite what it is called
From today, I'm the boss's obedient pet.
