Namakan: the tag on 74% of the catalogue

Film canisters stacked in a dark storeroom — the catalogue default, unbroken since 2003

The largest tag on this site after the word “AV” is one that the English navigation never names. In Japanese it reads 生ハメ・生姦 — namahame and namakan. It sits on 4,668 titles, which is 74% of everything published.

A tag on three titles in four is not really a filter. It is closer to a house style. That is the first useful thing to know about it.

What the words mean

Nama (生) means raw or unprocessed. It is the same character used for draught beer and raw fish. Hame and kan are both blunt words for intercourse.

Put together, the tag marks sex without a condom. Nothing more complicated than that.

The English word that covers it is bareback, which is what we call it in our glossary. The official site gives it no English name at all, so if you are browsing the English navigation you will not find this concept anywhere.

Why it overlaps with nakadashi

English-language forums use nakadashi (中出し, literally “release inside”) for roughly the same thing, and the two words get treated as synonyms. They are not quite.

Namakan describes the act. Nakadashi describes the ending. A title can be one without the other, and the catalogue shows it: 93% of namakan titles also carry the Creampie tag, which leaves several hundred that do not.

If what you actually want is the ending rather than the act, Creampie is the tag to filter on. It is separately named in English and it works.

Why 74% is the real story

Compare this to a mainstream Japanese release, where condom use is standard and visible. The uncensored production model that this site works in does not follow that convention, and the tag is essentially describing the default rather than an exception.

Which means using it as a filter narrows almost nothing. Ticking it removes about a quarter of the catalogue, and the quarter it removes is mostly solo work, interviews, and the observational material.

That is worth saying plainly because a first-time browser will reasonably assume that a tag this prominent must be selecting something specific. It is not.

What actually sits alongside it

The co-occurrence pattern tells you more than the tag does. Among namakan titles, 98% also carry Blowjob, 93% Creampie, 86% Caribbeancom Original, and 74% the untranslated Nicetitties tag.

In other words the tag travels with the studio’s standard scene structure. If you have watched one and know whether you liked it, you have a reasonable sample of what 4,000 more look like structurally.

The range is wider than the tag suggests

These titles run from 2003 to the present, so this is not a phase the studio went through. The median runtime is 61 minutes, matching the catalogue as a whole, and the longest tagged title runs just over five hours.

1,535 different performers appear across them. The most frequent appears in 35, which for a tag of this size means there is no small stable of regulars carrying it — it is simply what almost everything is.

How to use this practically

Do not filter on it. Filter on the thing you actually care about — a performer, a scenario, a specific act — and treat namakan as background information about what the studio produces generally.

The one case where it matters is the opposite direction. If uncondomed sex is something you would rather not watch, this tag tells you the answer is 74% of the site, and no filter reliably gets you the other 26% as a viewing experience rather than as a leftover.

A note on the English gap

It is genuinely odd that the second-largest tag in the catalogue has no English name. Our reading is that the English navigation was translated by picking off the categories that had obvious one-word equivalents, and the ones that needed a phrase got skipped. That would explain why the Original tag, the largest of all, is also nameless.

The effect on an English-speaking browser is that the two biggest facts about the catalogue are the two facts the interface will not tell you.

The short version

  • Namakan / namahame means sex without a condom; English calls it bareback
  • It covers 74% of the catalogue, so it filters almost nothing
  • Nakadashi is not the same word — it describes the ending, and Creampie is the tag for that
  • The official English navigation gives it no name at all
  • Useful as background about the studio’s output, not as a search filter
