Caribbeancom video quality, plainly stated

An old film canister and worn reel in low light — resolution cannot undo what the camera captured

Most reviews of adult subscription sites describe quality with adjectives. The official FAQ publishes numbers, so we can skip the adjectives.

This page contains affiliate links. Prices and plan details are what the official site showed in November 2026.

The resolutions, as published

Label Resolution Bitrate
1080p (Full HD) 1920×1080 4000 kbps
720p (HD) 1280×720 1250 kbps
480p 854×480 900 kbps
360p 640×360 400 kbps
240p 426×240 300 kbps

Those are the site’s own figures, not our measurements.

What 4000 kbps means in practice

It is a reasonable streaming bitrate for 1080p — comfortably above what most free streaming sites serve, and below what a Blu-ray carries. For a talking-heads scene it is more than enough. For fast motion in low light you will occasionally see it.

The gap that matters is between 1080p and 720p: 4000 kbps down to 1250. That is a large step, larger than the resolution change alone suggests. If your connection cannot hold 1080p, the drop is noticeable.

The median title here runs 61 minutes. At 4000 kbps that is roughly 1.7 GB of data for one title. Worth knowing if you are on a metered connection.

The old catalogue is a different question

Resolution is what the platform serves. It is not what the camera captured.

The catalogue runs back to 2001 without a gap. A title from 2005 was shot on 2005 equipment, and streaming it at 1080p does not undo that. It will look soft, and no bitrate fixes it.

This is the single most common disappointment we would expect from a new subscriber who starts at the oldest end of the catalogue. Start recent. Anything from 2021 onwards is in-house and shot on current equipment.

Which devices are supported

The FAQ lists minimums:

  • Windows 10 or newer
  • macOS 10.12 or newer
  • iOS 12 or newer
  • Android 4.4 or newer, with Chrome recommended

And browsers: Microsoft Edge, Chrome 70 or newer, Firefox 30 or newer, Safari 10 or newer.

These are undemanding. Anything bought in the last decade clears them. There is no app to install — it plays in the browser, which is also why there is nothing to sideload on a TV.

What the numbers cannot tell you either

Two things sit outside the specification sheet and matter as much.

Runtime is long. The median title runs 61 minutes and 57% of the catalogue runs an hour or more. That figure has barely moved in twenty years. If you are used to short clips, the pacing is a bigger adjustment than the resolution.

Previews are unrepresentative. A sample is cut from the most conventional part of a title, which is the part least characteristic of how these productions are actually structured. Judging the library from previews will mislead you in both directions.

This is the argument for using the trial rather than reading specifications. Three days costs nothing and answers the question your own eyes need answered.

The thing the specs do not tell you

Streaming only. Current plans do not include downloads.

The FAQ is explicit that downloading is available to recurring Legacy Download Plan members, and that plan is not sold to new members. So the download limits you will find quoted elsewhere — three titles a day, four, five depending on tier — describe a plan you cannot buy.

Any review telling you to build a local library is describing the site as it was, not as it is.

The short version

  • 1080p at 4000 kbps down to 240p, published in the official FAQ
  • The 1080p to 720p step is large — 4000 kbps to 1250
  • Roughly 1.7 GB for a 61-minute title at full quality
  • Old titles look old regardless of resolution. Start with recent releases
  • Device requirements are undemanding; it plays in the browser with no app
  • Streaming only. Downloads are closed to new members

A month of Caribbeancom costs $44. The first three days cost nothing.

The English site lists a $0 / 3-day trial with the full library — all 6,274 titles, unlimited streaming.

See the trial on the official site

After the trial the official page states it rebills at $15 / 15 days, and that you can cancel at any time.
